EnergyMixx plans to acquire a 178 MW wind project in Albania

Swiss based renewable energy group EnergyMixx AG plans to expand into the lucrative energy market of Eastern Europe by launching a 178 MW wind project in Albania. The move perfectly fits into the firm’s acquisition strategy and is the first project outside Italy

Zug/Switzerland, July 4, 2007 – EnergyMixx Holding AG (WKN AOMSTN, ISIN CH0030908856) announces a new project to further diversify its operations. The company intends to acquire operations in Albania/Eastern Europe in order to boost its portfolio of renewable energy electricity generation ventures.

EnergyMixx maintains a strategic alliance with energy project incubator Eneris, which enables the company to create a deal flow of renewable energy projects in lucrative energy markets across the globe. The partners now agreed to expand the business into Albania and to start a 178 MW wind power parc project in this fast growing market. If this planned acquisition is to be completed as defined in the Letter of Intention, EnergyMixx would create the biggest renewable energy wind project in Eastern Europe. Albania holds a bilateral treaty with Italy (the home market of EnergyMixx) which guarantees that Albanian renewable energy production is fully integrated into the Italian green certificates scheme. This leads to both a high remuneration and a high overall price for the energy produced. Furthermore, such an expansion will deliver a strong footstep into the Balkans and South-Eastern Europe. Last but not least, Albania aims for full integration into the European Union which would further increase demand for eco-friendly produced electricity.
